Operated today as Landers Liquor Bar, the historic structure in San Clemente’s North Beach Historic District has changed hands numerous times and has had many names over the years, Christine Lampert writes in her latest Historical Happenings. The building, she notes, has been shrouded in mystery since its completion in 1931, when the owner killed himself just days before the opening of what was the Aquarium Café.
